Summary
The Cloud Engineer is responsible for operations management of the Cloud for customers’ pre-production and production environments.  This includes uptime, deployment, administration, and technology selection. 

The Cloud Engineer will be part of a global team responsible for project delivery and responding to our daily challenges. 

This role generally works a standard business week (NA business hours), but occasional weekend work / out of hours may be required.

 

Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned.)
•    Responsible for the oversight and management of FINEOS's Customer facing applications, servers, and network 24x7 within their development environments
•    Issue Management & Troubleshooting through second level responder to the monitoring alerts
•    Proactively manage the environments to avoid incidents using monitoring tools and alerts
•    Work with multidisciplinary project teams to deliver the customer solution
•    Troubleshoot complex deployment issues on a multi-tier cloud enterprise solution
•    Collaborating with engineering and development teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions.
•    Modifying and improving existing systems.
•    Educating teams on the implementation of new cloud technologies and initiatives.
•    Designing, developing and deploying modular cloud-based systems.
•    Developing and maintaining cloud solutions in accordance with best practices.
•    Ensuring efficient functioning of data storage and processing functions in accordance with company security policies and best practices in cloud security.
•    Identifying, analyzing, and resolving infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues.
•    Regularly reviewing existing systems and making recommendations for improvements.
•    Interacting with clients, providing cloud support, and making recommendations based on client needs.

 

Education and/or Experience     
•    College degree or equivalent work experience
•    2+ years of experience providing system support in a technical environment working with customers
•    Experience in system performance and stability of cloud environments
•    Experience with CI/CD systems.
•    Experience with SysOps.
•    Azure, AWS, and GCP certifications preferred.
•    Troubleshooting and analytical skills.

•    Ability to own and drive Project related issues to resolution working with the Project & Customers technical teams 
•    Good communication and collaboration skills.
•    Excellent communication and analytical skills for incident and problem management as well as stakeholder management (FINEOS Engineers, Devops and Customer)
•    Work well in a distributed, fast paced and dynamic team environment
•    Strong commitment to great customer service
•    Client management skills.

 

Technical Skills
•    Proven technical background in web applications and applications system performance
•    Familiarity with AWS; Web Applications; Networking fundamentals, Unix; Scripting Language

 

Language Skills
•    Ability to speak the English language proficiently, both verbally and in writing

 

Travel Requirements
•    This position may require up to 10% travel based on business need
