Summary[EC1] 

The Technical Sales Consultant is responsible for presenting the technology aspects of the FINEOS solutions to prospective customers in the best possible light, removing any technology barriers to sale.

A Principal Technical Sales Consultant supports all stage of the sales process and developing relationships and trust with technology buyers and influencers (CIO, architect, development leaders) throughout this process is key to a successful sale.

The role extends beyond supporting the sales process to supporting continuous customer engagement, being responsible for the completion of customer due diligence requirements for on-going vendor risk management in the form of security and risk questionnaires.

To meet these goals, the Technical Sales Consultant must work closely with the CTO and Product Management to best position the product suite as well as with Product Consulting to ensure commitments made can be delivered upon in the quoted costs and timescales. The Technical Consultant must also work closely with the FINEOS Security and Compliance Manager, IT Ops and the Cloud Security Architects to ensure a continuous knowledge of an always improving security posture across the organisation.

The Technical Sales Consultant will also design and support the creation of enhancements, technical configurations and integrations to support specific bid requirements, working with the Discovery Team but also in a hands-on capacity.

The Technical Sales Consultant is also responsible for preparing and improving collateral and Library responses in line with product enhances and market requirements.

 

Responsibilities[NR2]  (Other duties may be assigned.)

  • Providing technical consultation at pre-sale stage of all technology aspects of the FINEOS proposition
  • To become a trusted advisor to technology buyers (CIO, CTO, architect, development managers, support managers) in relation to FINEOS solutions
  • Presenting and demonstrating a broad knowledge of all aspects of FINEOS technology and our implementations to prospects, partners, and at events and conferences
  • Engaging with product, technology and security specialists in FINEOS and partner companies to deliver explanations to customers and answer more detailed questions, either in person during workshops or in writing during RFPs and risk assessments.
  • Maintaining general knowledge and awareness of technology trends in the market and direction of technology in general.
  • Ensuring that the Sales and Sales Consulting teams are kept informed of changing technology aspects of the FINEOS proposition.
  • Maintain and circulating standard documentation and supporting collateral on FINEOS technology solutions.
  • Working closely with the Business Consultants to deliver compelling software presentations, proof of concepts and other prospect engagements
  • Completing tender responses (RFI, RFP, ITT) from a technical perspective

Education and/or Experience  

  • Computer Science or technology degree would be desirable   
  •  Experience requiring troubleshooting FINEOS solutions needed
  • Technical Consultant/Solution Architect experience a benefit

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Expert written communication skills, with the ability to tailor presentations and responses according to the needs and varying levels of technical understanding of different audiences.
  • Ability to understand customer business and technical drivers, and decision criteria.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, communicating clearly within the team and meeting collective as well as personal objectives.
  • Ability to meet aggressive timelines and deliverables.
  • Excellent presentation skills and engagement manner; ability to present technical topics to non-technical audience; and strong technical writing ability

Technical Skills

  • Expert understanding of modern architecture approaches, especially in relation to enterprise integration and cloud / SaaS.
  • Competent knowledge in the following:

Enterprise Integration, SOA

    • IaaS
    • APIs and web services
    • Relational databases
    • Information security in a SaaS context
    • Reliability architecture, DR

Language Skills

  • Ability to speak the English language proficiently, both verbally and in writing.

 

Travel Requirements

Estimate on-site engagements on average every six to eight weeks or so, for 2-3 days (including travel to/from the location)
