Summary
FINEOS is now looking to hire and has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Project Manager. We are looking for someone who ideally has experience in the Life / Social Insurance Sector and vendor implementation experience with major financial and insurance leaders in the Australian market
• As a project manager, you will be responsible for the success of the complete project - from needs assessment to the delivery of the solution.
• You will manage the planning and execution of the project, communicate with and manage the customer, build the project team and develop the budget and timeline estimates.
• You will be responsible for managing large, multi-phase projects and providing high-level technical audits, planning, recommendations, and project management with the focus being on achieving the customer's business case and outcomes.
• You may be required to manage multiple projects at one time as the need arises.
• You will be required to collaborate intensively with architects, technical delivery teams, cloud operations and key business stakeholders to guarantee successful, high-quality, and timely project outcomes.
• You will be required to build strong and trusted relationships with the customer, acting as a trusted advisor through all aspects of the engagement.

Responsibilities
Delivery & Implementation
- Ensure the scope of the project(s) is clearly identified and documented in accordance with FINEOS processes and controls. Any impact / changes in scope to be made clear in terms of impact on time, cost, and risk.
- Ensure that diverse project components are planned, managed, and controlled from project initiation to project wrap-up within agreed time, cost, and quality boundaries. Customer and third-party commitments also need to be monitored and tracked in the same manner.
- Ensure that Project issues and risks are identified, recorded, managed to resolution and assessed in terms of cost/time impacts.
- Ensure that an effective project team is set up and pro-actively managed to achieve the project deliverables.
- Identify track, and manage all project risks, issues, and dependencies, ensuring their prompt resolution or timely escalation.
- Develop comprehensive project documentation, including detailed project plans covering scope, timelines, resource allocation, risk mitigation strategies, and budget management.
- Responsible for ensuring that all phases of the project are clearly documented - particularly functional and technical specifications (including architecture) of the final solution.
- Responsible for ensuring that you and the project team are always following FINEOS project processes.
Collaboration & Ways of Working
- Engage with key stakeholders, building trusted relationships which collectively contribute to delivery success. To include,
- Account Manager(s) to ensure project delivery remains aligned with strategic goals and objectives.
- Consulting Services Manager and Capability Leads to ensure resourcing and capability needs for your project is correct and planned appropriately.
- Providing accurate forecasts and governance reporting to the Regional General Manager to ensure accurate project forecasting
- Maintain transparent communication by providing regular, clear updates to all stakeholders. To include detailed project reporting & metrics, customer progress reports, dashboards and formal presentations. Clear and reliable tracking of effort expended for billing purposes will also need to be maintained.
- Coordinate closely with Cloud Operations teams to define timelines for deployments, environment availability and operational readiness.
- Coordinate closely with Cloud Operations teams to ensure that the costs associated with both cloud environments and resource allocations are aligned with the project budgets.
Continuous Improvement & Practice Development
- Collaborate within an Agile team, contributing to continuous improvement and innovation initiatives. To include,
- Reviewing project workflows to identify inefficiencies
- Use retrospectives and post-project reviews to capture insights, document lessons learned and integrate these into future projects
- Identifying skills gaps within the teams and work with capability leads to incorporate learning opportunities into the project delivery.
Education and/or Experience
- The suitable candidate would ideally possess most of the following:
- Proven experience delivering large, complex software product solutions, within the insurance industry in both an Agile and Waterfall manner
- Formal education in IT, Project Management or Insurance related disciplines. PMP, Prince 2 and Agile certifications are desirable.
- 10+ years related work experience for a software product company and/or IT responsibility for an insurance company.
- Experience working in a vendor environment, as the vendor or the Customer working with a vendor.
- Exceptional project management skills with experience of project management methodologies.
- A recognized customer centric focus with a commitment to satisfying Customer and FINEOS Business Objectives.
- Strong decision-maker with proven leadership skills and an ability to come across as an authority figure when required.
- Strong analytical skills, logical and structured in approach.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written (fluent in both written and oral English).
- Proactive and energetic in the work situation, seeking to get things done and able to deal with a variety of tasks.
- Ability to create a positive, innovative and engaging working environment.
- Travel to multiple customer sites may be required from time to time.
