Summary

We are looking for a creative full-stack software engineer (React, NodeJS) with excellent design and coding skills.   You have worked on an agile team and will enjoy working within the latest CI frameworks to create tested software products.  You will get training on latest industry practices, to further develop your skills, along with exposure to cloud technologies and cloud-native application design and implementation.

 

Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned.)

  • Work collaboratively on a cross functional team to build cloud-native enterprise products
  • Design and work on front-end web UIs with a strong UX focus
  • Design, develop and test back-end applications and REST APIs
  • Coach and mentor other team members
  • Identify and drive improvements and innovations
  • Champion best practice to deliver secure, scalable and reliable services and interfaces

 

Education and/or Experience     

  • A relevant third level qualification or equivalent commercial experience in software engineering
  • 5+ years of programming experience
  • Experience in developing, debugging and troubleshooting web applications in Cloud environments (AWS)

  • Excellent technical problem-solving capabilities
  • Dedication to learning and sharing new technologies and skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Good knowledge of Agile frameworks (SAF(e))
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Problem-solving and conflict-resolution ability
  • Understanding of Continuous Integration and release cycle patterns

 

Technical Skills

  • Language: NodeJS, Javascript, Typescript, HTML, CSS
  • UX: React 
  • JS test frameworks – Playwright, Jest
  • SQL Databases (e.g. Postgres, DynamoDB)
  • Development & CI/CD: Git, NPM, Docker
  • Advantage:
    • Experience/exposure to the full SDLC, implementing AWS serverless, preferably on enterprise scale systems
      • AWS services (e.g. API Gateway, Lambda, Step Functions, S3, CloudFront, CloudWatch)
      • AWS serverless development using CDK
    • Multi-platform skills (Linux/Unix/Windows)

 

Language Skills

Ability to speak the English language proficiently, both verbally and in writing.

 

Travel Requirements

This position may require ad-hoc occasional travel.
