UX Designer

UX designer is responsible for enhancing customer satisfaction by improving the usability, accessibility, and pleasure associated with a product in a way that is attractive and convenient for users. The UX designer is responsible for creating interactive programs that enhance a customer's experience with a brand and facilitate an enjoyable experience using various forms of digital and web media. UX designer is also required to have a functional understanding of coding and transfer the brand's strengths and personality seamlessly throughout the interface of a product.

This position combines elements of research psychology and digital design a UX designer requires specialized training in both subjects to deliver quality products and services. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Graphic Design or related field is essential. Individual should enjoying bringing abstract concepts to life and working with a team on creative initiatives tend to perform well in the position of a UX designer.

Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned.)

  • Take ownership and direct UX strategy alongside Product Managers.
  • Produce compelling user experiences and user interfaces (represented by scenarios, paper prototypes, storyboards, wireframes, site maps, screen flows, etc.)
  • Create, maintain and share user interface requirements.
  • Apply domain knowledge, user interface design best practices, and knowledge of emerging UX related presentation/gestural technologies.
  • Assess data from multiple sources (product requirements, tech constraints, UX research, web analytics, competitive assessments, etc.) and synthesize it in order to develop effective solutions.
  • Communicate and present UX deliverables (wireframes, workflows, paper prototypes, etc.) to colleagues and key stakeholders within the company.
  • Help define, request and incorporate relevant and recent UX research and data from customer feedback to appropriately inform design decisions.
  • Work with developers to assess the feasibility of implementing solutions and providing continuous support during implementation.


Education and/or Experience     

  • BS in Design, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the user experience design field.
  • Proven experience as a UX Designer, UI Designer or similar role
  • Strong portfolio of design projects
  • Background in project management and research
  • Familiarity with interaction design and information architecture
  • Collaborative approach that brings good resolution decisions to tough design questions and issues.
  • Experience developing user personas, functional specifications and wireframes
  • Experience with insurance software would be preferable but is not essential
  • Experience and/or willingness to work in an Agile development environment
  • Strong understanding of modern responsive web design principles, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, web standards and accessibility

  • Excellent written, verbal and communication skills
  • Ability to successfully execute multiple projects and tasks simultaneously

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Proficient in design software (e.g. UXPin, Balsamiq)
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS; JavaScript is a plus
  • Familiar with operating systems, such as Windows, Success Factors, etc.

Language Skills

  • Ability to speak the English language proficiently, both verbally and in writing.

Employee works primarily in a home office environment.
